11 yearsI've just had a cheeky ring from these muppets. Luckily, I'm not one to fall for their nonsense. The chap on the line claimed to be 'William,' and the name of the supposed company was a mouthful and rather muddled.William11 yearsI received a call from an Indian woman claiming to offer assistance, insisting that she could remedy the relentless invasion of dubious websites that have been plaguing my computer whenever I surf the web. When I inquired about the effectiveness of my antivirus software, she casually asserted that these intruders manage to bypass all protections, and I wouldn’t even be aware of their impact until I followed her directions. Curiously, I asked what my first course of action would be, to which she demanded I sit before my machine, connected to the internet. I promptly informed her that this would not be feasible, but if she could provide me with the steps, I would jot them down for later. She insisted I must relay to her in real-time what I was seeing on my screen, to which I repeated, “That’s not going to happen,” before bidding her farewell. I attempted to return the call, but the number was unrecognised. Thankfully, I’ve got call barring enabled on my landline. Sadly, these con artists often utilise numerous 'phony' numbers, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they try their luck again. Utterly infuriating, yet clearly these time-wasting individuals have managed to find a way to earn their keep! - Caller: 'Local’ Computer SupportCaller11 yearsReceived a rather dodgy call from a chap with a South Asian accent claiming he could “resolve an issue with our computer.” Seemed rather keen to obtain personal details or lure us into a phishing site. I’d strongly recommend blocking this number and reporting it immediately. The number was 01704 545984. Stay vigilant, folks!11 yearsI ended up recording a rather amusing message on their voicemail. It pretty much went like this: "Haaalloow, um... can you hear me? Underneath... uh, mumble mumble... oh, what a laugh!" And then it cut off abruptly. What a hilarious outcome!11 yearsJust had a call that went straight to my voicemail without a message. Now, I'm facing a peculiar situation with my landline - there's no dial tone at all! Tried hanging up, but it seems my phone is playing hard to get. Very strange indeed!Submit Your Own Report (01704 545984)
