The thing is, a machine might ring you but if no one’s available to answer, it just stays quiet. So you can just block those silent calls without worries.

My mum, who’s older, just got a new phone and started getting calls from this number. They asked if she was getting nuisance calls, and she told them no, unless it was from them, then hung up. We blocked the number, but they just called from somewhere else, so we blocked that too. How do they keep getting away with this? It’s no surprise that older folks fall for scams like this.

Called me two times back to back. A guy said he is with some call preference thing and can help stop scam calls. I told him his call should have been stopped by that very service and that I didn’t want the call! Then I hung up. Right after, the same number called again but no one answered.

These lot are total muppets. A bloke rang me last Friday, knew my name and claimed to be from TPS blocking. But I’d read about a scam like this before, so I told him they’re just con artists and should be well embarrassed. He kept cutting me off but I just told him to do one, loudly. Since then they’ve switched numbers three times, but we just don’t pick up and let it ring onto the answerphone. They never leave a message. Other than the weekend, they’ve called multiple times every day. The last call was only about an hour and a half ago.

Some bloke from overseas named Peter has rung me three times within just a few hours, speaking in really poor English and claiming he’s from some phone blocking service. First time, I told him to come up with a better excuse, second time I said he ought to be embarrassed for tricking people for a living, and on the third call I asked him how many more times he planned on pestering me today. What a deceitful creep.

Got a call today from someone saying they wanted to upgrade my TPS registration from years back. They tried to get me to confirm when my bank card expires. I said no to talking about cards, then they switched to asking about cheque books. I said no to everything and told them I’d contact the official government body that handles TPS - that seemed to shut them up. It’s mad how some callers say they’ll stop nuisance calls but just turn out to be annoying themselves!

At around 10.50 on 5 March 2019, I got a call from an asian guy saying he was from TPMS. He wanted to talk to whoever had this number before me, but that person died 6 years ago. He then asked for my name and address, saying he could help stop annoying calls. I told him to focus on his own calls and to buzz off. Ive blocked the number since then.

I received a call from someone named "Amber," who claimed to be with TPS. She mentioned that in order to stop any unwanted calls, I needed to undergo some sort of advanced upgrade. I expressed my desire to verify the legitimacy of the process first, and was subsequently put on the line with a so-called "supervisor." This person insisted that I couldn’t receive a contact number until I completed the upgrade, which struck me as rather dodgy. I decided it was best to cut the conversation short and hung up.

A woman rang me up about blocking numbers. I told her I had no clue what she meant and that I wasn’t interested in any blocking stuff. She kept going on about it, so I said I couldn’t hear properly and then just ended the call.

I've been getting calls daily from people claiming to be TPS, but it's clearly a scam. TPS don't call people out of the blue. They asked if I was getting unwanted calls - I told them yes, from them. They keep switching phone numbers so blocking one doesn't help. Lately, I've resorted to blowing a whistle down the line ‘cos they ring me three or four times each day.

They rang me three times earlier today. I picked up on the third ring. Typical TPS scam. The woman knew my full name, address, and even that I pay by direct debit, but she got the card expiry date wrong which gave her away. I told her straight I’m onto her scam and said if she calls again I’ll be blowing a whistle so loud it’ll shatter the phone! It’s done the trick with other annoying calls before, they usually don’t bother after one more go. Haha!

Got a call from a bloke named "Rick" who claimed he could stop nuisance calls if I gave him my card info, expiry date and all that. He got a bit aggressive and said calls were being recorded, to which I just said 'fine'. I wasn’t comfortable with him having my full name and address but no other info. Didn’t hand over any details. I asked which company he was with, and he said Telephone Blocking Services. When I asked for a contact number to verify, he gave me a totally different number from the one he called me on.

This number kept ringing me several times daily for about a week, so I finally picked up to try and stop it. Like others mentioned, they claimed they could help stop nuisance calls, I told them that included this one! The bloke even read out my address and postcode correctly, then asked for a verification code, saying I'd have to pay by direct debit. I asked why he’d need that just to block nuisance calls, but he couldn’t explain. I ended the call warning him it’s a scam. Don’t fall for this, folks.
