Turns out there were twigs stuck inside the pipe! I had to make loads of phone calls and got put on hold many times. In the end, they refunded me £468, so I ended up paying £234 for one hour’s work! Definitely won’t be using them again.

Avoid this firm at all costs. They ask for a ridiculous amount for poor quality service and then just couldn’t care less about you. They'll happily take your cash but don’t expect anything good in return apart from hassle. I’m also in contact with Trading Standards over my experience with them.

Just handed in a complaint about ERG Facilities Ltd to BBC Watchdog. Before that, I took it to Trading Standards through the Citizens Advice Bureau site. ERG ask for your card info right away but then they never keep their promises, won’t return your calls and just keep making up excuses. Once they’ve got your cash, they don’t give a damn. Best thing is to freeze your card and switch your bank account asap.

I'm honestly shocked this lot are still in business. They billed me £222 for a plumber who showed up, glanced at my leaking pipe for a couple of minutes, then said he couldn't fix it right away and that I'd get a quote later. I ended up cancelling my card and now I'm getting constant phone calls, letters, and even some third-party debt collectors hassling me to pay that £222!! Seriously, steer clear of these people.

ERG, or emergency response group, also known as LOM Maintenance, is run by a bloke called Patrick O'Mahony who’s a right dodgy character. Stay well clear. They’ll never pay you, they rip off customers with sky-high prices, and they dump loads of work on you to rack up a big bill, then stiff you with the cash. They’ll keep you going in circles on the phone before shutting up shop and popping up again under a new company name. Total nightmare.

Stay away from EMERGENCY RESPONSE or ERG - it’s a total scam. Don’t ever hand over your credit card info to them. It’s just a call centre fishing for your details, and they share them all over the place. They never actually send engineers, just people acting like engineers who'll then charge your card but never fix anything. Be careful!

Have you tried giving your contractor a ring instead of just not paying them? Maybe the invoice got messed up? If you actually paid up on time and charged customers fair prices, you might end up with a business that runs without collapsing every couple of years, leaving a trail of unpaid contractors and just changing your company name from ERG to LOM Maintenance or Easy Services again.

I wouldn't even use the word dangerous, it's true in every way. They charge stupid amounts and then don't pay their engineers, the ones actually keeping the company running. On the phone they're so cheeky, always promising payments that never come through. No surprise the staff are always quitting, who'd wanna work there? They say they'll call you back, but nope, nothing. Always quick to grab extra money off customers too. No shock they had to switch up their name once, bet it'll happen again. Just to be clear, this isn’t really a place for reviews, it’s more of a 'who rang me' site. If you want real opinions, try googling 'Emergency Response Group Westcliff' instead. Most of the feedback is genuine apart from stuff from 'Daisy Smith', 'Sue Smith', and 'Lewis' - they’re all employees and pretty dodgy ones at that. My advice? Use your common sense and if you can spell properly, steer well clear of these lot!

So this lot, ERG, have racked up 49 reviews on Google and guess what? 46 of them are just 1 star!! Finally, folks are seeing these clowns for what they are - should be wearing cowboy hats and carrying pistols, honestly. That's it - steer clear!

I'm considering giving them a go, but to the person who left that GREEN review back on 19/1/2017, who's been making a fuss about how all the RED comments are anonymous - could you share your name and contact info? It would be great for others to reach out and hear a genuine, impartial view from you.

Looks like the person who left the green comment on 19/1/2017 missed the irony there. Oh, and to add a bit of salt in the wound, they got ‘their’ spelled wrong too. Classic!
