It’s really not the first time they’ve bothered me; this evening it was around 8:45. I could have sworn the government had put a halt to these pesky cold calls!

If this was that Conservative party market research thing, then I'm relieved no one actually spoke to me since I’m definitely not voting Conservative. I used to receive a staggering number of calls daily-anything from PPI offers to surveys, not to mention the times the phone would just be abandoned mid-call. Then I stumbled across some reviews online regarding a new BT phone that allows you to block such persistent nuisances, provided the caller identifies themselves and presses the # key. Ever since I got it, my phone has been blissfully quiet. Not a single unwanted call has come through! The only ones that do are from numbers I’ve saved in my contacts. I only find out about other attempted calls by checking my call log, as they never actually ring through. It’s a breath of fresh air!

You can even reject calls from No Caller ID or withheld numbers, but just a heads up-make sure your doctors have your mobile number, or you’ll miss their calls too. What a great time to take back control!

I received a call inviting me to participate in a survey for the Conservative Party. As someone with mobility issues, I mentioned that I’m registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). To my astonishment, the caller insisted they were exempt from these rules and could ring anyone, TPS or not. I found this utterly infuriating! The woman even suggested they had some sort of royal mandate via Parliament to ignore such preferences. Quite frankly, it sounds preposterous to me! They've definitely lost my support over this.
