I got a call from this outfit that’s operating out of some hangar near Southend Airport. They seem like a dodgy, unlicensed place that doesn’t follow any of the usual rules from FOS, FSA or OFCOM. Honestly, it smells like one of those classic Boiler Room scams. The guy on the phone said his name was Liam.

They come on all friendly, like they’ve known me forever, which immediately puts me on edge. Then when I ask how they got my info, they just blag and hang up. I still get calls now and then, and when I pick up, I usually just put the radio on or make some noise so they bugger off.

They were really impolite and refused to tell me which company they were calling from, then just ended the call.

So a guy rang me claiming to be from RJMB Investments. I looked them up online and found out they’re really a lead generation firm. Basically, they just get you on the phone so someone else can pitch you some investment deal later on. This time, the offer was about buying graveyard plots in London, promising a 40% return within 2 years. I told the bloke I was investing in gold instead, expecting at least 500% return this year, and they just ended the call.

If someone on the phone tries to get your address, just disconnect immediately! It’s probably a scam, so don’t give out any info!

Got a call from some investment firm. When I asked how they got my info, they mentioned some firm called investment lists. Then, I overheard a guy in the background admitting he just made that name up. I ended the call right away since I’m not signed up with them and have no interest.
