Felt like they were trying to trick me into giving out my full card info.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Sky saying my late mother-in-law hadn’t paid a bill. She unexpectedly passed in April and my father-in-law is still heartbroken. My husband explained that I handle all the bills and money stuff. As soon as I saw the number, I knew it wasn’t really Sky. Both me and my husband are raging - trying to scam an 85-year-old who’s just lost his wife? Proper low. Definitely watch out for these crooks!

I got a call from a polite woman claiming she was with Sky, saying my mum’s bill from last month wasn’t settled. She’s 78 and ended up giving her card details without questioning it. Later, we noticed £80 gone from her account with the name Providence showing up. We’ve contacted the bank already. Definitely a scam!

My landline receives daily calls from this particular number at 1pm and 6pm. Whenever I answer, there is usually silence on the other end or an automated voice claims they couldn't reach me. Interestingly, when I dial the same number, it connects to an automated voice representing Alliance Nationwide Insurance. Even when I follow their instructions to stop receiving these calls, it doesn't seem to have any effect - if anything, it seems to increase the frequency of these attempts. It's quite frustrating how this serves no purpose other than being a nuisance. The whole situation doesn't make sense, and honestly, who has the time to deal with this?
