I received a call from this number today, and it was some rather overly friendly chap who knew my first name and was attempting to verify my address. I swiftly told him to do one, hung up, and promptly saved his number in my iPhone as blocked.

I keep receiving annoying calls that I never asked for.

I received a similar sort of call, don’t recall the name, but it was from the same company mentioned earlier. The caller claimed they needed to verify some information and proceeded to ask if I was still residing at my current address. I firmly declined to respond, politely mentioning that I don't reveal personal details. He then probed further, inquiring about my employment status-whether I was still working or had retired. Again, I informed him that I do not divulge personal information, to which he retorted that it wasn’t a personal question. I reiterated my stance, wishing him well, and ended the call. Would you believe it? Just half a minute later, my other mobile started ringing with the same number, so I opted not to answer. It’s quite clear my information can only have originated from my mobile service provider, as he was evidently working through a list, calling both of my phones in succession. It would be rather intriguing to find out if others share the same provider as I do-3. My golden rule with unsolicited calls is straightforward: never confirm or share any personal details. If someone claims to be from an official outfit, just say you’ll return their call from a different phone. - Caller: RJMB

Received a call from this number, and the person on the line was exceptionally impolite!

Received an unexpected sales call from this number - a bloke named 'Liam' introduced himself as representing a company called RJMB. He was overly familiar, using my first name as if we were old mates. It was clear he was employing some dubious sales tactics, trying to present himself as affable and someone I might want to listen to. To top it off, he mentioned my postcode and inquired if I still resided there. I didn’t respond to that but pressed for the reason behind the call, fully aware it was yet another unsolicited push for so-called 'investment opportunities' - a nice way of saying they were trying to hoodwink me. I promptly indicated my disinterest and insisted they remove my details from their list. When he asked why, I firmly stated it wasn't his concern and reiterated that they were to cease all contact with me. He conceded and we ended the conversation on a courteous note. I frequently encounter these investment scams. Take heed! No reputable company would ever reach out to you without prior consent, especially hocking questionable 'opportunities' with any sort of slick sales talk. Either hang up or firmly tell them to get lost! Consider this a fair warning! - caller: Liam from RJMB.

I’ve just had a rather unexpected call from 01702410072, a chap named Liam was on the line. He was keen on flogging some sort of investments. I remained civil and attempted to let him know that I wasn't interested, and kindly asked him to take my number off his list. He decided to cut the call short while I was mid-sentence. Curiosity got the better of me, and when I called back, it was him again! I couldn’t resist suggesting he might benefit from a course in customer service. His response? A cryptic remark suggesting his next move, before I had the chance to finish my thought. Well, let’s just say I ended the call first after expressing my frustrations quite colourfully. The number traces back to Clacton-on-Sea-does anyone happen to know the area well? I’m tempted to pay them a little visit! Caller: 01702410072.

Following up on my earlier post, I just received a callback from the chap managing the call centre. His number showed as private. He was exceptionally pleasant, and informed me that he’d sent Liam home for the day and would address the issue with him come Monday. He expressed his sincere apologies regarding the entire situation, which I truly appreciated. I also requested that he convey my own apologies to Liam for my rather uncharacteristic use of strong language; it’s not my usual manner, but I felt it was warranted in that moment. I must say, I was quite taken with this conversation. It’s clear they’ve got a job to do, but with a manager like him, who clearly has his wits about him, I do believe that future cold calls might be much more civilised when we politely decline their offerings. Everything seems settled now, so no need for a jaunt down to Southend-on-Sea after all. - Caller: 01702 410072

I attempted to offload some shares in the States, but the chap just wouldn't take a hint. Kept pestering me with questions about why I wasn’t investing. It was rather ungracious of him, really. Quite rude, if I'm honest!

I received a call from this number, and the caller claimed they weren't attempting to sell me anything. Instead, they were trying to persuade me to invest between £10,000 and £20,000 in some shares based in the US. I told them I wasn't interested, to which they replied that I clearly didn't want to make any money! I insisted that this wasn't for me, and then they curiously questioned my reasoning. Was my reluctance based on the fact that the shares were American? I requested them to terminate the call three times and urged them to remove my number from their records, but they persisted in their pitch. Eventually, I just hung up myself. The caller mentioned they were from some investment company; I believe the word 'City' was part of their name.

I received a call from this number tonight and they somehow had my name linked to the mobile number they were using. I cut the chap off mid-sentence, made it clear that I understood he was just trying to earn his keep. However, I firmly told him that I absolutely refuse to engage with such calls at all! I demanded he remove my information from their records. The conversation ended there. However, I doubt they'll comply, and it seems we're all just going to keep being pestered by these parasitic firms! I've now added this number to my extensive 'Do Not Answer' list in my contacts! Oh dear - the caller seemed to be from either RMUK or RGUK.

Who on earth could these folks be? What do they want from me? If I ever uncover the source that’s been passing my phone number to these strangers, I’ll make it my mission to see they face serious consequences regarding their business dealings. The moment a political party steps up and pledges to put an end to these nuisance calls, they can count on my support in the upcoming election.
