Somebody called me pretending to be from Hounslow Council and was really aggressive. Definitely a scam, watch out!

They kept ringing me up even after I said no. The number seems to be from outside London, and honestly, I’m not bothered by whatever it was about.

He promised it was a one-time fee, but now he’s ringing me again with some new story. Bet he’s forgot I already paid him! I ended up blocking his number after he called last week. Just now, he tried again but couldn’t get through.

I got a call from someone who said they were linked with my local council and wanted to speak to the owner. To my surprise, they were actually pretty decent and ended up helping me improve my local profile. It turned out to be a positive experience after all.

Got a call from some bloke going on very fast and pretending he was from the council. When I interrupted, he admitted he was actually with some company based in Southend trying to sell spots on local maps and adverts. I said I wasn’t bothered but he just kept yammering on until I had to just end the call. Seems like the sort of scam aimed at catching people out and loading them with expensive advertising charges, probably sneaking off with your money too. Watch out for it!
