Beware, I got a call from someone speaking with a Hindu accent claiming there was a problem with my internet at home. They wanted my computer's ip address and told me to download some google extension so they could fix it. Sounds dodgy to me, like they were after remote access to my PC. Definitely a scam, don’t fall for it!

It seems that the folks at BT or Openreach require quite a bit of faffing about to tidy up some outdated settings on the router. They mentioned needing to hook it up to a laptop or computer, which sounded a bit too much for me. So, I decided to terminate the conversation, pretending it was a bit beyond my expertise, and opted to wait for my other half to return in an hour. Honestly, I'm a bit in the dark about what they had in mind.
