I picked up thinking it might be from the local hospital. Then this bloke with an Indian accent said he was calling from Vodafone, which made me hang up straight away and block the number. It's the first time I’ve had a scam call showing a local number - must be one of those number spoofing things.

Honestly, I reckon they’re just having a right laugh at us. Most folks in the UK these days don’t really have the smarts or aren’t willing to stand up to these sorts of calls. Truth be told, a lot of this mess we’re in is partly down to ourselves.
