I received a rather alarming call earlier, featuring a rather posh British accent. The voice stated that two transactions had been deducted from my bank account, along with one hefty £700 charge from Amazon. It then droned on, instructing me to press 1 to approve the transaction or 2 for something else I couldn’t quite catch. I promptly hung up - it was clearly a scam! Such tactics are appalling, especially for those who are more susceptible to these tricks. The caller ID said it was from Motherwell, South Lanarkshire.
