I've been hounded by a firm that goes by The Energy Solutions Group. They’ve been ringing me incessantly, and while a good many of the calls are just dead air, when there’s an actual person on the line, they know my name, which feels oddly intrusive. The accents of the callers sound quite local, but as soon as I start probing about how they got hold of my information, they turn rather aggressive and just cut the call. It's baffling, really, as my number is private and I'm listed with the Telephone Preference Service. They claim that I must have shown some interest in home insulation, but this seems utterly ludicrous, considering they appear to have no online presence whatsoever and when I dial their number back, it just rings out. Given that I’m renting my flat, the probability that I'd be looking to invest in insulation is virtually non-existent. This whole saga led me to file a complaint with Ofcom regarding their silent calls, and I’ve also contacted the Information Commissioner’s Office about potential breaches of the Data Protection Act. After all, I've asked them multiple times to take my details off their list, but they’ve blatantly ignored that request. I strongly encourage others in a similar situation to do the same; it’s the only effective way to tackle these nuisance calls.
