Haha so funny. An Asian bloke called 'Mark' and asked if I was gettin nuisance calls. I said, "Looks like I've got one right now mate!" He chuckled a bit then just hung up. But jokes aside, someone really needs to put an end to these cheeky pests.

Just had a rather amusing encounter with a chap named Albert, who spoke with a delightful Indian-subcontinent accent. He claimed to be from the Telephone Preference Service, offering a way to nip nuisance calls in the bud. Tired of the usual rigmarole, I quipped, "I don’t receive any unwanted calls," and to my surprise, he promptly disconnected. Quite the cheeky exchange, if I do say so!

I was curious to find out my card information to put an end to these pesky calls. It's baffling that most of these callers seem to have Asian accents. It's no surprise that people develop prejudices when all they're trying to do is con you out of your money. I made it clear to the chap that I handle these nuisance calls by simply hanging up and not divulging a single piece of information. Why are these unscrupulous individuals permitted to coexist with decent folk? I reckon it's high time we instituted a three-strike policy and removed these sorts from society altogether.

I had a strange call from someone purporting to be from Telephone Preference Management! They were quite insistent about wanting my debit card information. In the end, I decided to hang up on them. It really feels like there should be some proper intervention from the authorities to deal with this sort of thing.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent claiming to be Mark Wilson from the Telephone Preference Service! He asked for my sort code and bank details, saying it was to stop annoying calls. Bit strange he didn’t say he planned to drain my account as well. Watch out for these dodgy scams. He said his number was 0203 011224 but actually phoned me from 01698 253060. 01698253060 has been ringing me quite a bit. I tend to pretend I can’t quite catch what they’re saying and make them say it over and over again. Not gonna lie, it’s getting a bit dull now. Best thing is just not to pick up if it’s a number I don’t know or wasn’t waiting for. It’s a pain having to check the number every time to figure if it’s someone important. Maybe if a number gets reported like 20 times, the phone companies should just block it. This is obviously some kind of nuisance.

Got a call from a very polite Asian bloke who asked how I was doing. Me - Brilliant, thanks, what's this call regarding? Him - Dunno. Me - You dunno? Then why the hell are you ringing me? Him - Bugger off, f yourself, what a c###, etc. Me - Go on, get it off your chest, you'll feel better. Cheers. I felt better after that too - but honestly, these types can be pretty slick and believable if you're in a weak spot.

I've just heard from my 82-year-old neighbour, who doesn’t have access to the internet, that she received a call from this number regarding her Telephone Preference. The moment they requested her credit card details, she clocked that something was off. It’s astonishing how these fraudulent operations continue to thrive. It's high time that this number is either shut down or looked into by the authorities!

On the 21st of July, I received a spate of anonymous calls from that particular number. I recall being contacted previously by an Asian lady who professed to represent some sort of call-blocking service. I made it clear that I wanted my number removed from their list, yet it seems my request fell on deaf ears. I'll be lodging a formal complaint with BT regarding this matter.

Some bloke named Brian, who sounded Asian, rang me offering an unwanted call blocker. I asked him to define 'irony' and he didn’t get it, so I pointed out that his call was exactly that - unwanted. He argued back that he wasn’t an unwanted call, which left me proper gobsmacked. Having worked with kids and Royal Marines, I took a deep breath and calmly explained myself without letting him cut in. But he wouldn’t listen and kept trying to pitch his product after I finished. I ended up questioning his manners and, well, his looks too, before hanging up.

Got a call on my landline from an Asian bloke. He claimed he could stop all the nuisance calls, then suddenly said my credit card was about to expire and that he had the last three numbers or something. Yeah right, like I’d fall for that. I told him the police were actually monitoring all my calls. Told him to jog on. These lot are proper big-time scammers, no doubt about it.

These chaps are top-notch con artists, I tell you. They keep pestering my home phone over and over! One of them had the audacity to claim he was aware of just how many scam calls I'd been receiving. What a numpty! He even mentioned he had the last three digits of my debit card and insisted that I should cough up some dosh to halt the barrage of nuisance calls. I informed him that the constabulary has all my calls on record. Talk about a plot twist! Isn’t it rich? They're clearly masters of deceit-stay alert, folks!

I received a call from an Asian gentleman who claimed he could help me with my bothersome calls. When I mentioned that I was registered with the Telephone Preference Service and had no interest in his services, he rather cheekily responded asking if I had expressed any interest to begin with. I firmly insisted that I wasn't keen on responding and requested he take my number off his list before ending the call.

Like a few other folks here, I got an unsolicited call that seemed totally dodgy, asking if I was getting annoying calls. I said, "Apart from this one?" He looked confused and repeated the question. I gave the same answer again. Still no clue, he asked once more. I said it again. Then there was a silent pause like his brain kicked in, and he just hung up. The frustrating bit is BT want us to pay to block these calls, when really someone should be sorting this out, especially since we’ve got proof.

I had an experience akin to what many have shared. An unwelcome and quite dubious call came through, probing whether I'd encountered any bothersome calls. I shot back with, "Besides this one?" However, the chap clearly was a bit thick and just kept asking the same thing. I reiterated my point, but he still seemed baffled. After a rather drawn-out silence-presumably while he was trying to get his head around it-he abruptly terminated the call. It’s infuriating, though; BT expects us to fork out to block such calls when someone ought to be held accountable for this nonsense, especially since we’ve got all the proof.

Like many before me, I found myself on the receiving end of an unwelcome and, quite frankly, dodgy call that inquired if I was experiencing nuisance calls. I quipped, "Aside from this one?" but it appeared to soar right over his head, as he simply reiterated his question. I replied with the same retort, yet he still seemed baffled and posed his query once more. After sticking to my guns, there was a noticeable silence as he seemed to process what I’d said before abruptly ending the call. It’s rather infuriating that BT expects us to shell out money to block such calls when there should be accountability for these nuisances, especially when we have ample proof of this interference.

Some bloke with an Asian accent rang up and wanted to talk to a Mrs Wright. That used to be my last name but I got married again ages ago, like 12 years back. I asked who was calling and he goes on about nuisance calls. I mentioned I was in the middle of one and that the name he used wasn’t mine anymore. Then he got pretty nasty. My mother has been inundated with calls from this dodgy company pushing an £80 fee for their so-called call blocking service. She reluctantly paid them, yet they keep pestering her with demands for more money because they claim she's associated with a different provider. In frustration, she usually hangs up or gives them a piece of her mind, but they still bombard her relentlessly-sometimes repeatedly in a single day, forcing her to leave the phone off the hook. This morning at 8:10, she received a distressing call from a woman with a seemingly authoritative voice, threatening her with arrest for fraud and declaring that the police would arrive imminently. It sent her into a complete tailspin, and at nearly 80, she feels utterly bewildered by it all. I've reached out to the police, who assured me it’s merely a scam call, but I can’t help but wonder what action can be taken against these charlatans.

Some bloke from Asia phoned me, going on about call blocking and said if I gave him my debit card details, he’d put me on a service to block all calls for a monthly charge. I was already irritable because of this awful hot weather, so I lost my temper and just shouted something like ‘get lost and do one’. Maybe I was a bit harsh, but I remembered seeing something on BBC Watchdog saying to be rude to these people and hang up. Honestly, if I could have reached through the phone, I reckon I’d have smacked the scammer!

They wanted me to provide the expiration date of my credit card and the numbers from my cheque book!

Had a cheeky ring from this number earlier today. An Indian chap on the line insisted he was from the TPS. I mentioned my registration, to which he promptly acknowledged, saying they could sort out the activation for me. I reminded him that it’s a complimentary service. He sounded rather flustered and abruptly ended the call.

They rang me today claiming they could stop all dodgy calls. So I just read back their number and told them it’s already been reported. Now I’ve blocked their number.

I had an unexpected phone call on the 4th of July in 2017 from someone claiming to be with the Telephone Preference Service. He insisted that all further calls to my number would be blocked. The chap had my name and full address and then asked for the first four digits of my debit card. I declined and challenged him to disclose what those digits were himself, but he couldn’t provide any. His accent was definitely Indian, and I made it clear that I wouldn’t be sharing any personal details, labelling the call as a scam. I have a strong feeling he might ring me again, trying to extract the remaining digits of my sort code and then possibly the account number. Just a heads up for everyone!

Got a call from an Indian call centre saying they could block annoying calls and wanted £19.99. I told them to jog on since it’s obvious it’s a con.

I received a call from an Indian call centre earlier today, prattling on about annoying nuisance calls and offering to block them for a fee of £19.99. It was obviously a scam, so I told them to get lost!

Seriously?! They wanna know if I’m still getting rubbish calls?! What the heck?!

I received a call from someone who clearly knew I was a retired individual, claiming they could assist in blocking nuisance calls. They requested my card verification number, but when I inquired about the reason, they were rather evasive, prompting me to hang up. From the outset, I suspected it was dodgy, especially since I don’t use card payments. They called me back almost immediately, but I let my answering machine take over, and they swiftly ended the call. It’s yet another attempt at scamming those of us on pensions, so I’d recommend that everyone stays vigilant about such tactics.

I received a call from a lady who had a distinctly Indian accent. She mentioned that she had activated a call blocking service for me, which I didn’t request at all, and then abruptly hung up. Odd, isn't it?

At about 10:50am on 22/06/17, I got a call supposedly about the telephone preference service. They began by asking personal info like my name, address and how I pay my phone bill. Then they tried to get my credit card details to charge me for some call blocking service. I didn’t give them anything. I thought TPS was meant to be free, so I told them this call didn’t seem legit and ended the call. Watch out for this!

Got a call from an Asian gentleman pretending to be from some call blocking company. Told him it was a shame I didn’t have anything to block his call and just hung up. That number’s called me quite a few times since, but most of the time I just let it go to voicemail to avoid any hassle.

I just had a rather curious phone call from 01698253060. An Indian chap named Jack claims my call-blocking service is due to run out and he can sort it out for me. Now, aside from the TPS which is complimentary, I've never subscribed to any paid call-blocking service, so I simply declined his offer. How amusing it is that this bothersome call arrived just moments after I ordered a brand new BT phone designed to fend off nuisances like him! Fortunately, the new gadget is slated to arrive via Amazon tomorrow.

So, I was thinking about getting a call blocking service and this guy called me up, asking if my debit card was still valid. I said no, it had expired, and then he asked when my new card would expire. I was like, why do you want to know that? He said he wanted to renew the free call blocking I'd been using without knowing for the past 3 years. I told him their service wasn’t great and if I want to pick up or ignore calls, that’s my choice. Then he said he could set me up with a £20 per year plan to improve the service. Then guess what? He just hung up on me! Not good at all.

Bit of good news - I was about to sign up for a call blocking service when the caller asked if my debit card had expired. I said yes, and then he wanted to know the expiry date on my new one. When I asked why, he said he was going to renew the free call blocking service I’d been getting for the past 3 years (I didn’t even know about this). I told him their service hadn’t been that great and that it’s up to me whether I pick up or not. Then he said he wanted to set up a £20 yearly plan to enhance my free service. Then, worse still, he just hung up on me!!

I just received a call from this number claiming to be with the Telephone Preference Service, assuring me that I wouldn't have to deal with any more pesky calls. I didn't buy it and simply hung up, as it sounded a bit dodgy to me. Not long after, they rang again-just a mere three minutes later! Naturally, I decided against answering this time.

Got a call last week from this number, showed up as "International," saying I was ALREADY signed up for Call-Blocking. Then today, called again (this time no "International" label) saying they were about to activate Call-Blocking for me. I asked why they were calling if I was supposedly already on it. They didn't like the question and just hung up!! Absolute RIP-OFF!!

Got a call earlier today from someone saying they were from BT offering a call blocking service. They then asked for my bank details, which I wasn’t about to give. Told them it made no sense if they already had my account info. Just a load of time wasters and scammers, no clue about doing a proper honest job.

Just last week, I got a call supposedly from this number, though my phone flagged it as “International.” The caller claimed they had already set up Call-Blocking for my device. When they began to request personal info like my postcode, I reminded them they shouldn’t need such details to activate Call-Blocking! Then, today, I received another call from this so-called number (this time my phone didn’t identify it as “International” though). The caller declared that they were going to implement Call-Blocking. I questioned them about how they could be doing this when they previously stated that the Call-Blocking was already in place. This seemed to baffle them, and they hung up rather quickly! What a complete and utter scam!

Got a call from this number yesterday, claiming to be BT saying I wouldn't get any spam calls from today onwards! I asked the woman if she was ringing to get a nuisance call in before the deadline - she went quiet and I just ended the call. Kinda weird how you can find their number just by dialing 1471.

Had a call a moment ago from a Laura speaking with a strong accent, definitely not Scottish. At first, she was quite normal, checking my phone number and postcode. Then she started asking if I pay my phone bill by direct debit and if I had a Visa card that's about to expire soon. I found that a bit suspect and asked why that was needed for a “free” service. Normally if it's a scam, they just cut off there. She didn’t hang up though, but I ended the call myself. Also, they didn’t bother to hide their number, which felt quite odd.

It's now the fourth or fifth occasion I've received a call from this particular number, with the caller purporting to be from the TPS and inquiring whether I still maintain a direct debit with BT. The chap always seems to have an Indian accent. Initially, I was inclined to believe the first call was legitimate until he brought up BT-I'm actually with Sky! Since then, whenever they ring and bring up the TPS, I simply toss the phone down and hang up.
