01695 814077 rang me saying they’d be collecting my car the following day for some repairs after an accident. My car did have a crash a few weeks back, and we’re sorting it all through the insurance. I told them I’d ring back later as I needed to sort a hire car first. Turns out it was a scam, I found out after chatting with the garage handling the repairs.

I always avoid answering calls unless I know the number. I use Who-Called Me UK to check unknown numbers, it’s been really helpful for ages. I’ve blocked that firm loads of times, and like loads of others, they just change the last few digits constantly. Just keep blocking them, it doesn’t take long at all.

Somebody called saying they’re from first response, telling me I’d been in a crash. Total scam! At this rate, I’d be getting into accidents daily with how often these calls ring me up lol 😆

Never answer calls from unknown numbers and always check online for any info about the number first. If you do pick up and they claim to be from your bank, just say okay and tell them you’ll ring back, then hang up. If it’s legit, they won’t give you a number to call since you should already have your bank’s contact details. Before ending the call, ask for the caller’s name and department they work in. If they won’t share that, just hang up and call your bank yourself to report it.

They kept phoning me so I decided to call back. A lady picked up and started asking about an accident supposedly happened in the last year and a half, but I ain’t had any. She was obviously at home, I could hear a pet in the background and some clanking like someone dropping containers.

The call kicked off with a ridiculously loud ‘call centre’ in the background, then a bloke shouting asking for Jessica Britton. I told him that was a really rude way to start and asked what he wanted. Right away he got quite aggressive, telling me I was the rude one! Having worked in telecoms myself, I can’t understand how these so-called ‘companies’ get away with running these lines. They’re totally useless except for folks trying to pull off insurance scams. If this guy had shown up at my house and spoken to me like that, I’d have phoned the police straight away.

The call kicked off with a blaring 'call centre' noise, and a bloke shouting to speak to Jessica Britton. I told him that was a pretty rude way to start and asked what he wanted. Then he got all aggressive and said I was being rude! Having worked in telecoms myself, I can’t figure out how these “companies” get away with running these lines. They’re pointless except for people running insurance scams. If this chap had shown up at my door and talked to me like that, I’d have phoned the cops straight away.

01695 768777 is a call centre, but it’s not really based in Skelmersdale. I got another call about half an hour earlier from an 01744 number for the same reason. They’re shifting calls through different area codes to trick you into picking up!

Once I spot Skelmersdale on the caller ID, I just let it ring out. Got loads of calls from that place lately, so I just block the number. The last three digits always seem different though. They really need to fix this problem of endless spam calls. Same deal with calls coming from Glasgow, the last three digits keep switching too.
