The phone kept ringing several times, but whenever I picked up, no one spoke.

There were some open reach engineers apparently at my local exchange, but when I mentioned it might be a scam call, she just ended the call straight away.

Some bloke named Declan rang claiming he was an engineer from BT Openreach, asking how my internet service was going. We had a scheduled chat about broadband yesterday, so I thought maybe it was legit. He even knew where I live and mentioned my local exchange partner was from my town. I told him I wasn't really happy with it. He then asked what gadgets I used to get online and wanted me to log on then and there. That’s when I started thinking it was dodgy and told him I was tied up. Not long after hanging up, he rang me back again.
