They claimed to be from Microsoft, saying someone tried to break into my computer recently. They were asking why I hadn’t replied to their emails over the last few days. Thing is, I never got any emails from them, plus I don’t really use my laptop on weekends, so it was off most of the time anyway.

I couldnt really catch what the person was saying cause of their strong accent. They said they were from Virgin Media according to the details I found, but I've never dealt with them before. Could this be some kind of scam?
