SCAM ALERT - BE CAREFUL! I got a call from someone claiming to be Virgin Media stating there was an issue with my broadband and that it wasn’t working right on my computer. Instantly, I sensed it was dodgy. They tried to get me to show them what was happening on my screen and asked me to sit at the computer. Then, they told me to press the Windows key plus some other key and type EVENTVWR, then look at custom views. When I hesitated, they even asked if I was looking it up on Google! If you’re unsure, just Google this yourself for more details. When I asked where they found my phone number, they abruptly hung up. It might sound confusing to some, but please don’t mess with your computer settings if you get a similar call. They’re probably wanting remote access to “fix” it. Best thing to do? Just hang up straight away.
