3 yearsBeware of this scam! Please don’t fall victim to it. I just got a call purporting to be from Virgin Media, claiming there was an issue with my broadband service affecting my computer. It didn’t take long for me to realise it was a con. They’ll try to convince you they can demonstrate the issue on your screen and will urge you to sit in front of your computer. They'll suggest pressing the Windows key alongside another button, then direct you to type EVENTVWR and navigate to custom views. If you hesitate, they’ll even interrogate you as if you’re searching for it online. Do look it up for further insights! When I asked how they obtained my phone number, they abruptly hung up. This may sound confusing to some, but whatever you do, refrain from altering any settings on your computer, as they might attempt to gain remote access to 'resolve' the supposed issue. Just hang up the phone!Virgin MediaSubmit Your Own Report (01689 812737)
