Be careful, this is definitely a scam! Don’t pick up if you see an 01685 number claiming to be from the DWP. The real Department for Work and Pensions would always call from their official main number, and then give you an extension for the specific department you need. Never trust these random numbers!

They claimed to be from the DWP, but when I rang up the official number, they said it had nothing to do with them. Plus, the DWP always sends letters through the post if it’s anything official.

Just got a message off someone claiming to be from ‘dwp’ asking me to ring a number today about my benefit claim. Trouble is, I’m not even on benefits, so it feels a bit dodgy to me. A few weeks back, I had another text from ‘dwp’ too, telling me to call 0191 5546980 with a date that was nearly a week after this recent one. Honestly, it’s all a bit suspicious given I don’t claim any benefits at all.
