Got a call earlier from what sounded like HMRC but it was a recorded voice saying I’d done something dodgy with my taxes and threatened arrest unless I pressed 1 to talk to someone. Didn’t fall for it though, obviously a total scam.

Receiving calls from this number every single day, yet they never bother to leave a voicemail. Quite puzzling!

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent saying he was from O2, trying to sell me a 40% discount on my plan. When I asked what my new bill would be, he said it’s 40% off the £22 I’m currently paying. Told him that’s still too high for me. Then he asked how much I was paying, and I said, since you’re with O2, you should know. He just snapped back rudely telling me to ‘@#@# off’ and that he didn’t care. Definitely a scam. The call came from Scotland but I also got one yesterday from someone in London.

Got a call earlier, asked who it was and this woman with an Indian accent said "pornhub". I just hung up straight away, blocked the number and now I'm reporting it. Definitely looks like a scam to me.

I received a dodgy call from someone claiming to represent Currys PC World, trying to entice me with an array of bargain phone packages. There’s absolutely no chance that this was a legitimate call from Currys!

Got two calls in just an hour from this number, both times it went straight to voicemail but no message was left. Seems like it could be some shady cold callers, even though I’m on the TPS, or maybe scammers trying their luck.

Big thanks to everyone here! After reading your comments, I told my daughter not to reply since she's just starting uni and had thought the call might’ve been important. It’s great when folks share stuff like this so others don’t get caught out.

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be with a phone provider offering a deal. Told him to take my number off his list, but he went on saying “nah, I work for all phone companies doing promos.” Wouldn’t say where he got my details or promise to quit ringing me. So, had to block and delete the number again!

This bloke said he was from BT at first... I told him to go ahead and try one more time and then, believe it or not, he said he was with Virgin instead! I couldn't help but laugh, and that really set him off proper!

I've had this one show up a couple times in a day, no voicemail left, so I just blocked it straight away. When I checked the number, it seemed just as dodgy as this one, proper scammers. From what I’ve seen with similar calls, if you dare ask if that’s their real name, they get mad and start cursing - that’s the dead giveaway they’re not legit. Once they’ve sworn at you, you know it’s safe to block them. Honestly, best thing is to just ignore unknown calls and verify them using these reverse lookup sites.

Got a ring from this number earlier but didn’t pick up cause I don’t usually answer numbers I don’t know. The weird thing is, I never tell anyone about my mobile or share it with anyone, so how on earth did they get hold of it? Feels like some kinda scam to me.

I got a call from this number and it was a woman with an Indian accent, but definitely not like the ones you hear from Birmingham. We said hello to each other a few times, like three each, then there was this awkward pause for around five seconds before I just ended the call.

This bloke claimed he was ringing from some place called Car Phone Warehouse with a deal for me. When I asked where he got my number, he said it came from my mobile provider. I challenged him asking who he really was, but he gave me a different name. I told him I’d complain about it, and he got really narked before hanging up on me.
