Caller didn’t give their name, just some robotic voice saying our IP has been hacked and that our internet will be cut off in a day. They asked me to press 1 to get more info and fix the issue. Of course, I didn’t bite. It’s pretty obvious no legit internet support team would be based in Fonphort on Mull. If you don’t know, it’s just a small cafe, a handful of houses, and a dusty car park for the ferry to Fona. Lovely place, sure, but hardly where tech geniuses hang out - unless they’re a couple of cormorants and a particularly clever grey seal running the show.
