Got a call from someone trying to pitch me boiler insurance, wasnt really interested.

I got a call from someone trying to sell me home insurance, but I wasn't having any of it and ended the call pretty sharply. Definitely a scam, glad I didn’t fall for it!

Got a call about an "extended warranty" for a washing machine I don’t even own. The moment I asked which washing machine they meant, the line went dead. What a pathetic scammer!

About an hour ago, some bloke rang me up claiming my fridge freezer warranty was about to run out. I had a feeling it was just a load of rubbish straight away. The way he started all friendly with a “good morning, how are you?” just set off my scam alarm bells. I cut him off and chucked the number onto my BT 1572 blacklist. I can’t understand why anyone would be bothered about my fridge warranty unless they’re some sort of scammer targeting people who might fall for it. Honestly, they deserve to be locked away.

Got a call about a fridge freezer warranty extension right after another one came through on a different number claiming to be from BT. Trying to scare these scammers doesn’t usually help and might only make the calls more frequent, but if you insist their info’s wrong they might stop calling for a bit. Saying you’re renting sometimes works 'cause they figure you’re not gonna bother with their nonsense. You could also tell them the person they’re after no longer lives there, that seems to throw them off sometimes.

Got a call saying my washing machine insurance had expired and they could sort it out for me for another two years. I asked when the warranty ended, and the guy said it was two years back. Thing is, the machine is over a decade old, so the warranty’s long gone. I told him straight it was a dodgy call and to buzz off and not bother me again.

I told her straight away I didn’t believe it and that they should take my info off their system. She kept saying it wasn’t a scam and just wouldn’t stop talking, even though I kept telling her to stop and erase my details. Eventually, I just had to hang up. They were really persistent, like they just wouldn’t give up with their sales spiel.

Somebody rang me about boiler insurance and maintenance, sounded like one of those call centre jobs. I reckon they probably just grabbed numbers off some directory. Took ages to get through when I asked stuff, so I ended the call. Seems dodgy to me.

It's really worrying that they have my full name, address and postcode. This time I told the person on the phone I was reporting them to the police and they just hung up. Honestly, something needs to be done about these calls, especially since they target people who are more vulnerable.
