This call really reminded me of that tax scam recording from a few months back. It sounded really threatening and quite real. The area code showed it was from Yorkshire, but I bet it’s actually from somewhere like India or China. With all the tech we have now, BT or whoever is responsible should be able to block these calls. I’m sure a lot of people get scared by them and end up following the bogus advice, which could lead to some awful outcomes.

Got a call around 7:22 in the morning, a recorded voice said it was from Ofcom and that my internet needed an update. It told me to hold on, but I just ended the call instead.

a lady rang up sayin she was with ofcom, told me to use a windows pc. she sounded really belivable like she had a script in front of her.

I got a call from someone pretending to be from Ofsted, saying they needed to check my internet usage and wanted my permission. It definitely felt dodgy, so I didn’t give them access to my PC. Watch out, it looks like a scam!
