I received a call from someone claiming to be Martin from Rethink Energy UK. He requested to speak with the owner of the property, and when I mentioned that I was indeed the homeowner, he launched into a rather absurd spiel about soaring energy costs. As it turns out, he was nothing more than a charlatan, preying on those who might be anxious about the escalating energy bills. It’s outrageous how these con artists exploit vulnerable individuals!

My phone stopped the call right away with Call Guardian, but I still checked this site to see who was behind it. Just another scammer, unbelievable! You gotta wonder when these crooks will realise people aren’t falling for their tricks anymore. Seriously, don’t talk to them at all, they’re just trying to steal your info and cash. I got a call from someone claiming they were looking into high electricity usage in my area. He said he wasn’t trying to sell me anything and that he was working for some energy company. But as soon as I asked which postcode areas they were focusing on, the person just went silent and the call dropped. Definitely a dodgy scam, watch out!

energy scammers - asking for private details (really dodgy). said he was from our council but that’s a load of rubbish. said his name was martin, sounded really convincing and official, but he's just a spammer. dont talk to him or anyone else saying the same. local councils dont work like that and wouldnt ask those questions. stay safe!

They kicked off the call by saying "this isn't a cold canvass call," then quickly began talking about how energy prices in my area are insanely high right now. I told them straight away I wasn’t interested and hung up. Felt like a scammer trying to take advantage of folks worried about the crazy energy bills going up. Definitely dodgy!
