Upon picking up the phone, I was greeted by a recorded message that claimed there were two suspicious transactions linked to my RBS bank account. I didn’t pick up and there was no voicemail either. Looked up the number here and, just like I thought, it was just another annoying call.

Got a call from someone saying they were with RBS, talking about upgrading my account and saving me loads on my mortgage. They never bothered to do any security checks, and when the call suddenly cut out, they rang me back from a random mobile number. I contacted RBS’s fraud department and they told me this person isn’t connected to them at all and there’s no record of anyone from the bank reaching out to me.

I received a call from someone claiming to be with O2, who mentioned they were refunding £50 due to the pandemic. When I expressed my disinterest, they abruptly ended the conversation. Quite odd, really!

This individual is definitely up to no good. They seem to hang around just long enough to catch a whiff of your voice. If they detect that you might be an older or more susceptible person, they'll dive right into their deceitful act. If not, however, they’ll simply cut the call short and vanish without a word.
