Got a call from someone with a strong accent who said they needed to send us a cheque for some kind of overpayment from the bank. They actually knew our address, so I just told them to post it there. Honestly, I’m not expecting anything to turn up though.

The chap sounded like he was trying to talk with a mouthful of marbles; I couldn't make head or tail of what he was saying, so I decided to end the call. Muddled brains really are a bother, aren’t they?

The voice sounded Indian, and there was a lot of background noise, like a call centre buzzing with activity. I ended up just hanging up.

Got a call from this number on 14th July 2017. They rang us up three times back to back, but we couldn’t really make out what they were saying. Something about bank fees, I think. Makes me worried about older folks who might fall for this kind of scam.

On 13/7/17, I got a call from a man who asked if I was a specific person. When I asked why, he said he wanted to send me bank charges that had been deducted - total nonsense. Then he went on to recite my address and postcode, asking me to verify them, which I refused. I asked what he needed the info for, and he said to send a cheque. Next, he requested my date of birth for a “security check,” which I didn’t provide either. I called him a name, and he snapped back calling me a motherf****r before hanging up. I have reported this to the National Action Fraud team.

I got a call from a man with an Indian accent who said his name was Peter Overlin. He claimed there were bank fees linked to me for the last 20 years, totalling more than £3000. He mentioned my full name and address, then asked for my date of birth, which I refused to give. He kept insisting he needed it to verify some cheque, but I told him to stuff the cheque and ended the call myself after getting quite frustrated.
