Got a call supposedly from SSE about some glitch with my meter readings and billing. They rattled off loads of personal stuff like my meter supply number and contract details, saying it’s all from their system. However, they wanted my usage stats to "update" their records. They refused to give me a callback number. SSE’s official advice warns that with this kind of info, scammers might dodge data protection and mess with your account or even arrange a new company address. If they won’t give you a contact number, just hang up immediately!
