Received a call from 01673 397 121 on Tuesday, 19th January 2021, around 10:15 in the morning. The caller introduced himself as "Michael," supposedly representing "Wergin Media" (spelling questionable) with such a thick accent that I struggled to catch what he was saying. He mentioned a reference number for verification and alleged that someone was misusing my Wi-Fi without my knowledge. He then inquired whether I had a laptop or desktop connected. At that point, I firmly stated that I wouldn’t grant remote access to any device and suggested he reach out via SMS or email if he needed further assistance. Unsurprisingly, I haven't received any messages through those channels. The whole interaction reeked of an attempt at a remote access scam.
