Spun a wild tale - said I’d lost some limbs, had horses involved, robots, even a small plane featured in the chaos. But we ran short on time before the call ended. I asked the bloke for his personal number to catch up when I was free, but he just dropped the call on me! It was about making a claim for an accident. But later, I noticed the number didn’t actually start with a 5, which should be the case for places like Pewsey or Marlborough. Seems like these lot are sort of hijacking a local code and then selecting any random number that’s available, forwarding the call to their actual location that could be anywhere in the country. I guess it’s a trick to make the number seem local when it’s not. The last time I had a call from a similar number was 01672493294 - only the last three digits changed.
