I received a rather odd phone call recently from this number, where the person on the other end claimed I had been involved in an accident. With a spare moment on my hands, I thought it would be amusing to lead them on a bit. I spun an incredibly fanciful tale about my misadventures, involving everything from losing limbs to encounters with horses, futuristic robots, and even a light aircraft thrown into the mix! Unfortunately, we ran out of time before I could wrap up my elaborate narrative. When I requested his home number to carry on our chit-chat at a later date, he surprisingly cut our conversation short! Perhaps my story was slightly too outlandish, but now I'm left perched by my phone, eagerly awaiting his return call. - Caller: A complete scam!

I've received a call from this sort of number previously, and since it appeared to be a local area code, I decided to pick up. It turned out to be some sort of claim regarding an accident. Upon a closer look at the number, I noticed it didn’t have a '5' at the start, which would indicate it’s from Pewsey or Marlborough. It seems these folk are cleverly exploiting a local code and then randomly selecting any available number, which they then route to their offices, potentially situated anywhere across the nation. I suspect they might be using this trick to make their calls appear local. The last time, the number was 01672493294; only the final three digits differ from this caller: 01672493187.

I received a call on my mobile from this number, and they insisted that I’d been involved in a car accident over the past three years. When I probed them for their identity and where they were based, they got quite irate. Upon telling them that their claims sounded utterly ridiculous, they burst into laughter, which was rather odd. At that point, I decided to end the call. They identified themselves as being from First Assist, but I certainly took that with a hefty pinch of salt!
