He went on about helping me secure some insurance payout and then proceeded to request my bank information. It's crystal clear he was trying to pull a fast one on me!

I'd say all these calls are pretty dodgy and could easily catch someone out. There's this recurring pattern of a male Asian voice, usually a bit slow in talking and with loads of background noise. It's mad that phone companies don't block these numbers, especially since scammers often grab loads of lines in the same area code with numbers that look sequential, like serial numbers on cash. Surely if someone orders a bunch of lines like that, it should automatically raise red flags and they should be looked into properly before they're given the numbers!

This smashed scam call, no doubt. When I finally answered, the line was delayed and full of static, with some dodgy background racket too. As soon as I heard the classic “hello ma’am, how are you today” line, I knew what was coming. They tried to say it was about some accident I supposedly had, but I told them straight up those calls are against the law, and they quickly ended the call. Total waste of time.
