I got a call from a woman who asked if she was speaking to me but completely messed up my surname. I told her the correct way to say it - it’s not hard at all - and then asked what the call was regarding. She just said, “Doesn’t matter, bye,” and ended the call. I thought that was quite rude, and if it really didn’t matter, why even bother ringing? No clue who she was, probably some marketing or debt collector or PPI nonsense. The number showed a Newton Stewart code, but I don’t know anyone or any business there.
