I got a call from a woman who barely spoke English, claiming she worked for Microsoft. She told me hackers were at it again and that she was calling people to help them stop these hackers from getting into their PCs. She asked me to turn on my computer right away so she could guide me through the steps to keep safe. I refused and hung up. She called straight back, so I just blocked the number.

Got a call from an Asian woman who claimed my computer had issues. I told her I didn’t own one and called her out for scamming me. She hung up pretty fast after that.

Got a call today from someone saying they were with Microsoft about my PC. Had almost the exact same call yesterday but from a different number. Both have been blocked now.

So this woman with an Indian accent called me first, saying my computer was full of bugs or something. I played along for a bit, then they just dropped the call. After that, I started getting rude calls from some bloke with a similar accent. Even tho I'm on the TPS, it didn't stop them. I did a 1471, and the number came up as 01670862245. Such a pain!

Just this afternoon between 4 and 3pm, a woman named Emma rang me saying she was from Microsoft. She claimed scammers were in my PC and asked if I was the primary user and if the computer was turned on. I told her it wasn’t. She insisted I turn it on, but I refused and asked why. I told her Microsoft never contacts folks like that and warned her not to try any dodgy tricks. She then ended the call. FYI, I’m on the TPS list too.

01670862245 called me claiming to be Microsoft support - it's just another scam. They mentioned something about the assoc command and a registry ID like clsid<B88dca60_ or something, which apparently is the same on loads of computers. Tried to play along since I work in IT. Told them to confirm my IP address and, surprise, they couldn’t do it! Absolute muppets.

Got a call just now from someone with what sounded like an Indian or Pakistani accent (sorry, not great at telling the two apart). They claimed there was an issue with my computer. When I told them to take my number off their list, they just cut me off. Proper rude! I’m registered with the TPS but still getting these annoying cold calls and scams. This number’s going straight on the block list along with all the others. Data protection? More like a joke!

These individuals are masquerading as representatives of Microsoft, though they are certainly not affiliated with them, and they claim to be calling from Reading, which is far from the truth.

So this guy said he was from Microsoft, right? I told him to email me just to prove he's legit, and then he goes, "Can't do that, lol." Total sketch if you ask me.

Got a call claiming there was a problem with my Microsoft computer. The code they gave me was linked to Morpeth in Northumberland, but the person on the phone had a really strange, foreign accent. Definitely sounded like a scam to me.

Got a call from that number, claiming there was some problem with my Microsoft PC, supposedly from India. As soon as I heard "Microsoft," I just ended the call. Honestly, they seem to believe we’re all daft or something.

We’ve been getting these calls claiming to be from Microsoft, and the person said their name was Emmal! They keep telling us the same story about someone trying to hack into our computer. It’s really annoying and sounds like a total scam.
