I got a call from a number I didn’t recognise and when I picked up, there was just silence and I could hear what sounded like a call centre in the background. After that, I’ve had about four more calls from 0167 numbers but I’ve just been ignoring them. No idea who it could be.

I received a call from an Indian call centre, representing a firm that had a name starting with "Select." The caller urged me to simply "listen to him," which I obliged. He then proceeded to verify my name, address, and phone number-though the last detail struck me as peculiar, considering that was the very number he dialled! After that, he inquired about my employment status, whether I was working or enjoying retirement. I replied that I was indeed employed and questioned why he needed that information in the first place. Instead of addressing my query, he pushed on to ask about my age bracket. By that point, I decided enough was enough and informed him I wouldn’t share any further details, leading to the call’s conclusion.
