Phone number ☎️ 01670255903 👆 is reported as a persistent scam where callers, often with foreign accents, falsely claim to represent Microsoft and warn of hacking or security issues on your computer. They typically urge victims to grant remote access, which can lead to fraud or malware. The calls frequently come from varying local numbers to evade blocking, causing frustration despite registration on the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). Reported tactics include changing caller IDs, using unlikely names, and hanging up when challenged. Genuine Microsoft or law enforcement authorities would not initiate contact in this manner. Recipients are advised to remain sceptical, avoid granting remote access, and report these nuisance calls to relevant telecom regulators for action.

Got a call from a family member who’s locked up at the moment. Quite a shock, but glad to hear from them, even under these circumstances.

I got a call from someone saying they were with Microsoft. It made me think, did they maybe hack into our phone line? Because just a couple of days before, we’d been having some issues with our computer. Quite worrying really.

Had a call from someone saying they were from Microsoft, trying to get into my computer because apparently hackers were using it for illegal stuff. Honestly, don’t be fooled by this. If your computer was involved in any sort of crime, it would be the police contacting you, not some random Microsoft person. Stay safe and don’t trust these calls!

Got a call from someone pretending to be Microsoft. My missus picked up and thought they said “Michael’s shop” and just told them she’d never heard of it. Honestly, best comeback given the situation. Just a heads up - if a caller says they’re from Microsoft, they definitely aren’t.

Got a call yesterday from someone saying my computer was under attack by money launderers and all sorts of dodgy stuff. I told them I had no time for their nonsense. They tried ringing me again this morning with the same rubbish, so I just ended the call straight away.

this morning i got a call from some bloke called alex claiming he was from microsoft (yeah, sure!) saying there was a security issue with my pc. i asked where exactly he was ringing from - his answer was microsoft, but i pressed further, asking which country. after a pause, he said reading. i then asked what the weather was like there; another pause before he said it was windy. i pointed out that the forecast said it should be raining round that time in reading - seemed odd. in the end, i just thanked him and told him to have a good day. by the way, 01670 is the area code for morpeth!
