I reckon it’s one of those dodgy call centres, likely based in India or maybe another Asian country, given the chap's accent. He had the audacity to say he was representing BT.

Got a call from a supposed BT agent, sounded like a scam coming all the way from India. They went as far as saying, “Sure thing, you’re called Gladys,” which was just bizarre. The annoying part? They're now ringing from local numbers to trick folks into answering.
