Got a call from some bloke with an accent, yabbering on about insuring my telly. I just told him I wasn’t interested and then ended the call. Used BT 1572 to block the number so they can't ring me again.

Some bloke rang me claiming to be from the phone company, saying he handled the outdoor lines. He already knew I was having phone issues and even my address without me saying a thing. Then he asked for my date of birth, and when I asked why, he stumbled over some weak reason about needing it for age verification. Next, he mentioned my bank since I pay by direct debit - which was right - then had me verify my sort code, which he also got correct. Still, it didn’t feel right to me, so I cut the call off immediately and put the number straight on block.
