I had an unnerving encounter with a woman who called me at my workplace. What really troubled me was how she already had my home address! It got me thinking - what else could she possibly know about me? She even dropped a hint about my age group, which made me feel quite uneasy.

I received a call from a gentleman with an Asian accent who claimed he was representing BT, discussing issues regarding unwanted phone calls. Having done my due diligence with my actual service providers not long ago, I was aware that this was a load of nonsense. I firmly informed him that I recognised the ruse and promptly ended the call.

A chap approached my elderly dad with the promise of a complimentary Christmas food basket, and he seemed to know his name and where he lives. I quickly warned him it was most likely a con.

I’m rather grateful for my caller ID feature, as I chose not to pick up the phone when this number rang. After perusing the remarks on this site, it appears to be yet another scam attempt. It’s quite disheartening to think about those who might fall for these ruses, believing them to be authentic. It really is high time something was done to tackle this issue, in my opinion.

Received a call on our registered TPS landline at 12:57 this afternoon. Since we didn’t recognise the number, we chose to ignore it and allowed it to ring—ring it did, roughly ten times! Appreciate the insights shared in the comments; it appears to be just another scam call doing the rounds.

I received a call from someone with a distinct Indian accent, accompanied by a significant amount of background din. It’s fairly clear this could be yet another one of those dodgy callers, possibly from India or Taiwan, attempting to swindle or deceive you right before the festive season. I’d strongly advise just cutting off any communication with them.

Yet, they persist, ringing me from other unblocked digits. Now, I’m facing the same hassle with this 01666 number. I recently received a call from this number. The person on the other end had a foreign accent and seemed to be speaking in a language that sounded like one of those African dialects. Quite out of the blue, they disconnected. Perhaps it’s a newcomer trying to get the hang of things?

I just had the classic 'your computer has a problem' con, where they try to convince you to check your Windows event log. They then proceed to spin a tale about how the errors can supposedly be rectified by leading you to their dodgy website. I strung him along for a fair bit, acting as if I was following his instructions before eventually telling him where to shove it!
