Got a call from a young lady with an Asian accent pretending to be from SKY. When I told her, "We don’t actually have SKY and surely you know this is a scam, right?" she just replied, "Alright, yeah" and then ended the call. She sounded really down, couldn’t even get past that easy test.

I didn’t answer the call, but after running the number through a reverse phone lookup, I found out it’s a VOIP number (Voice over Internet Protocol). These are numbers made online from any place in the world, often used by scam call centres, especially ones from India pretending to be calling from the UK. These numbers normally don’t last long and are mostly used by scammers. If you try ringing back, they usually don’t pick up because the number is inactive.

Got a call from +44 1665 529330 saying they were Vodafone and offering some Christmas deal. I told them it sounded like a scam and then the bloke started calling me darling and made some really inappropriate remarks. I’m feeling quite shaken up by it. I’m heading to the Vodafone shop on my high street later to report this. These annoying calls need to be stopped for good!

A woman with a really thick Indian accent called me, claiming to be from O2. As soon as I noticed she never asked for me by name, I knew something was off. She got quite irritated when I questioned her, mumbling stuff I couldn’t make out. Then she began asking for my bank info, saying I could get a 40% discount or something like that. DO NOT PICK UP THIS NUMBER Got a call today at 1.02pm claiming to be from Three network, sayin they had some Christmas deal or something. I’ve been with Three for like 5 years and they never say they’re from Three like that. Their numbers usually end in 330 or start with 01665, not these 0300 ones. I told the person I’m actually a cop and gave my name and badge number. Then they got all nervous, said I’m a hacker and they’ll never be found. I told them IP addresses and URLs are always traceable. After that they just said ‘Good luck’ and hung up.
