Got a call from someone saying there was a fault with my internet connection. They asked for the number on the back of my router. The caller kept following their script, but even after I asked a bunch of times, they couldn’t prove they were actually from BT Openreach. Plus, they had no clue who actually handles the bills on my account, which ain’t me!

Got a call from this number earlier, just like others have said. I pretended to believe them for a bit, then told them straight up they were scammers and should find real work. After that, I ended the call. Even though I’m unlisted, these dodgy calls still manage to come through.

Somebody rang me pretending to be from BT saying there was an issue with my internet. When I asked what was wrong, they didn’t really give me a proper answer. I ended up saying I’m sick of these scams and just hung up. To be honest, I probably could’ve kept them on the line a bit longer. Plus, I’m actually with Virgin Media, so I know for sure BT isnt the provider for my broadband anyway.

This morning I got a call claiming to be from BT Open Reach. They said they’d been told my broadband speed wasn’t up to scratch and asked me to test my download speed. The person sounded like they were from a call centre and even put me on hold at one point, but I just ended up hanging up. Actually, I had one of these calls just yesterday too.

Got a call from BT this morning, they said they needed to talk to whoever pays the bill. When I asked who that was, the person on the phone said she couldn't tell me. So I said if she can't tell me, then I can't talk to her. This was the second call I'd had today - the first one, they just gave me some made-up name for the bill payer.

This woman had a strong accent, probably from India. Kept pushing me to hook up my laptop to test my internet speed. I said I’d just use my tablet instead. She kept going on about needing my laptop switched on. I wasn’t having it, used my tablet to check the speed, told her the results, said I was tied up, and then ended the call.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from BT, giving his name as Matthew but with a strong Indian accent. He said BT had noticed my broadband speed was quite poor and told me to run a test on [#]fast[###] from my desktop or laptop to check the speed myself. When I did, it showed about 17Mbps. Then he asked me to install some remote access software so they could fix the problem remotely. Seriously, DON’T fall for this! They just want to get into your device and swipe your personal info. When I said my laptop wasn’t working, he just hung up on me. Total scam alert.

When I finally answered, there was a weird pause before the caller started talking. The guy had an Indian accent and was quite polite, even calling me ‘ma’am’.
