I've been getting loads of calls from this number, but none of them actually get through to me. The reason? I've got TRUECALL installed, and it only lets the contacts I want ring my phone. Honestly, it's the best little gadget I've bought in ages! Just to be clear, I'm not trying to advertise anything, just helping out anyone who's tired of PPI calls, dodgy double glazing offers, or scammers. Plus, if there's a company you need to reach but they don't have a passcode, you can block them too. Seriously, have a look online and grab one for yourself.

On my phone, I've got a caller ID and an answer machine. Whenever I get a call from a number I don’t know and they don’t leave a voicemail, I just assume it’s probably some kind of spam. After that, I add the number to my spam list so that next time it pops up, I can see right away it’s likely junk.

Strange though that my phone still shows that number. Then, just a couple of minutes later, I got a very quiet call from 0151 231 4000. I called that one back too and it was for the Centre of Public Health at John Moores University. Bit of a coincidence, or what?

Lately, I've had quite a few calls from this number pretending to be debt help services. They always say something like "press 5 to talk to one of our reps" but I haven't bothered to do it... If these calls were genuine, the number should be local, which it is. Quite suspicious if you ask me.

Got a call out of the blue again, which I wasn’t expecting or wanting. We’re signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, so technically they shouldn’t be ringing us like this. Whenever I answer one of these annoying calls, I let them say who they are first, then tell them I’m going to report them. Funny thing is, they nearly always hang up right away. Still, the only real way to tackle this is to actually report these nuisance callers.
