Got an automated call saying my broadband was at risk and they needed me to press 1 to speak to an engineer about changing my IP address. If you get this kind of call, don’t press 1, because I’m almost certain it’s a scam aiming to hook you up to an expensive number. I’m quite tech savvy (used to work in IT support), so there’s no way my connection was actually hacked, and I definitely don’t need an engineer to sort an IP change. Had two similar calls last week, but didn’t bother noting the number since it’s likely faked anyway.
