Some dodgy people or a person are just saying that they are the police; without any actual proof, it could be anyone. Just block it, because if it were the police and they wanted to speak to anyone they were allegedly phoning, then they should get off their bums and drive to see the other people or person they are harassing with unsolicited phone calls.

Had a follow-up call from the police after I made a 101 call the other day.

I decided to investigate a call I received this morning by using one of those spam number lookup tools. It turned out the name linked to the number was Dave Gordon. I've never heard of this person before, so I'm left scratching my head as to why they would be calling me so early in the day.

I received a rather odd call from a so-called police officer, who proceeded to ask me bizarre questions about where I was on a day when I hadn’t ventured out of my home at all. I’ve tried to trace the number, and it appears to be a landline based in Prudhoe, Northumberland. Clearly, this isn't the police nor any of their affiliates. When genuine officers make a call, they properly introduce themselves, stating their full name, the police station they're from, and their badge number. This chap didn’t adhere to any such protocol, which raises a significant red flag about his authenticity. I allowed him to ramble on, but he offered no clues that might hint at his true identity or intentions. Should he dare to call me again, I shall make sure to record our conversation.
