This was definitely a scam call. If possible, block the number straight away. If your phone shows who’s calling, save it under ‘scammer’ and assign a unique ringtone just for annoying calls like this. That way, if they ring again, you’ll recognise it straight away and can just ignore it!

Got a call from someone saying they were from "bt openreach," but it felt like a scam. The guy sounded really Indian and called himself “Davi” or something. I just blocked the number straight away. Then, another call came through from a different number, probably the same scam, so i blocked that one too. Feels dodgy to me.

Got a call from some bloke saying he was with BT, trying to make me get on my laptop to share details. He said a BT engineer was supposed to come round. Rang up BT myself and it turned out to be a complete scam.

Someone claiming to be from BT rang me, saying there were some error messages showing up on my router and started asking about my IP addresses. I didn’t really trust it and before I could say much more, they just ended the call.
