5 yearsI received a rather dubious automated message insisting that I’d purchased an iPad through my Amazon account. Typical nonsense, if you ask me. When I connected with their so-called operator, they had the gall to mention my name and address. They suggested I search for 'rtremotesupport', which led me to a dodgy site associated with a Robert Thomas (who I assume has nothing to do with it at all!). It was clearly an attempt to get me to download TeamViewer Quick Support, presumably to seize control of my computer. Feeling rather vexed with the whole charade, I promptly informed them that there was no chance I’d be downloading anything they recommended - and then they just disconnected. When I got through to their person, they already had my full name and address. They then told me to look up something like rtremotesupport, which took me to Robert Thomas’ site. Obviously, they wanted me to download TeamViewer so they could get remote access to my PC. I told them there’s no chance I’d let that happen and they just hung up.
