I just received a phone call with a pre-recorded voice purporting to be from my bank, alleging that transactions had been made to Amazon and a few other retailers. It definitely raised my eyebrows! I can’t help but wonder - why on Earth a recorded message? Is this not just a generic spiel they’re blasting out to every number they ring? Feels quite dodgy, if you ask me!

I picked up the call, expecting a conversation, but it appeared I was met with silence at first. Just as I was about to end the call, I faintly caught the sound of a man’s voice. He didn’t have the accent of a typical English speaker, that much was clear.
