I received a call alerting me of two dubious transactions on my bank account: one for £250 from Amazon and another for £1,000 from overseas. It prompted me to press 1 or some such nonsense, but I thought it best to just hang up and not get involved.

I received a call and, upon picking up, was greeted by a robotic voice claiming to be from the Visa fraud department. They mentioned noticing some rather large transactions-one for £300 and another for £1,000-that appeared suspicious. I was instructed to press '2' to be connected to someone. However, when I did, the line was filled with the sounds of what seemed like a bustling crowd, and a heavily accented individual finally chimed in, thanking me for reaching out to them. I found it amusing as I replied, “But I didn’t reach out to you!” After a moment of more vague chatter, I asked, “Which bank are you representing?” At that point, they abruptly disconnected the call.
