I got a call from a bloke saying it’s been five years since we last had our loft insulated, and he wanted to swing by for a free check-up and quote. I told him that my husband suffers from mixed dementia and strangers coming round would really unsettle him. The caller, who sounded quite polite, then asked if it would be alright to ring back in a few months. I agreed, probably not thinking straight, but after looking up the number, I’m pretty sure he’s up to no good.
