I received a pre-recorded call that claimed to be from BT. The message warned me that my internet was about to be disconnected and prompted me to press certain keys on my phone to prevent the shutdown or to reach a technician. It was all rather suspicious, if you ask me.

Absolutely another dodgy caller! I've received numerous calls from this region in the past. I decided to ring the number back on a different device, but it was just met with a message saying 'unavailable.' Your lookup provided the location, which was quite helpful, as other callers I’ve encountered didn’t offer such details. Cheers for that! They cut off before I could even respond. If anyone's free, it might be worth giving them a ring to see what they’re up to. Best, EC.
