Had a call from a woman who didn’t sound British at all, claiming to be from BT internet. I asked her how I could be sure she was legit, and she told me to jot down my “internet licence number” which she read out loud. She said if I typed it into my computer, it would prove she was with BT. I told her I didn’t have a computer handy and she just ended the call straight away. Definitely feels like a scam to me.

I received a rather peculiar call earlier today from a woman who didn't sound quite British, claiming to represent BT Internet. When I pressed her on how I could verify her authenticity, she instructed me to note down what she referred to as my "Internet Licence number." She even read it out to me, insisting that entering it on my computer would somehow authenticate her as being from BT. When I mentioned that I didn't have a computer at hand, she abruptly ended the conversation. Clearly, it was a scam!
