I keep getting calls from numbers that look like they're from the UK because of the STD codes, but they’re actually ringing me from India. Turns out India has some of the same codes we use here. It’s super confusing!

This number keeps ringing me and when I call them out they get really rude and pushy. You’d think the police could track them down by now, cos the only reason they keep at it is 'cause now and then someone actually takes the bait. These folks should be put behind bars properly - we shouldn’t be soft on these scammers but rather support the people getting scammed!

Around half past two in the afternoon on May 30th, I got a call from some bloke with what sounded like a Far East accent. He was going on about me having downloaded something dodgy onto my PC without permission. I knew straight away it was a scam, so I just told him off and hung up.

Got a call from this number earlier, some bloke claiming to be from Microsoft saying there was an issue with my PC while I was on it. Told him there’s nothing wrong and to stop calling me again.

Got a call from a woman with an accent, claimed she was from BT and was offering a 25% off my BT bill. I stopped her straight away and asked her to confirm my address (which she already had, so watch out). Then I asked for my account number, and she got really confused, stammering that she couldn’t access my account. I called her a total scammer and hung up. The number was the same one those Microsoft scam callers use. Be careful out there!

Got a call about trouble with my Microsoft stuff, to which I replied I only use Apple products. Then, the same number called again about ten minutes later claiming to be from Apple, saying there was an issue with my Apple devices. When I asked which operating system I was on, they paused awkwardly and then just said "the Apple one" - honestly, not the best attempt at a scam.

Got a weird cold call from a guy who said his name was Ronnie Johnstone and that he was from Microsoft. I told him I don’t use any Microsoft stuff, so the call was pointless. He just ended the call after that. Seems like another random Microsoft sales tactic or something.

Got a call from someone claiming to be a Microsoft tech support. Told him straight up I’m aware it’s a scam, loads of folks in the UK have been targeted like this. Said he wouldn’t get a penny off me and might as well take my number off their list. He suddenly got really rude, telling me how dare I call it a scam - honestly, that just confirmed it for me. Ended the call right there. Seriously, don’t ever let them download any programmes on your computer, they’re just out to con you. If you find it hard to be firm, just hang up quietly and move on.
