2 yearsTried ringing me two times without leaving a message. What struck me was that the call originated from an Indian call centre. Quite an interesting situation, to say the least!2 yearsMuch like reports from other users, I've received a trio of calls over the past day from slightly different iterations of the 01644 216xxx number. Each time I picked up, though, they promptly ended the call without a word. Very peculiar indeed!2 yearsSome dodgy caller was clearly trying to con me.2 yearsSeems like a scam to me. The call barely lasted and no voice message was left behind.2 yearsGot a call from someone pretending to be from O2 claiming I could get the newest phone, but it was definitely a scam.2 yearsI got bombarded with calls for about 10 minutes, they kept ringing like 20 times nonstop but always from a different number. Just hung up and blocked the number.Scotland2 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be Vodafone, saying I’d get 30% off on my next three bills as a loyal customer. They couldn’t confirm any of my info or even how much my bill normally is. I just hung up and blocked the number right away 😄👋🏻Vodafone2 yearsI got a call from someone claiming to be with o2. They said since I’m a loyal customer who always pays on time, they wanted to give me a 30% discount on my bills. This isn’t the first time they've tried this with me. I asked if I could quickly Google the number they were calling from because I know the real o2 number. They agreed, but as soon as I started searching, they just hung up.2 yearsWhat a nightmare, got a call with no one speaking on the other end, so annoying grrr!2 yearsCalled me but just dropped the call as soon as I picked up.2 yearsGot a call from an unknown number with a Scottish code. Since nothing came through, I went ahead and blocked the number.2 yearsI couldn’t answer the phone in time, and there was nothing on the voicemail.2 yearsSeems like a dodgy or annoying call, if you ask me.2 yearsI picked up the call and greeted twice, but the other person just cut off the connection. What a right pain!2 yearsJunk!2 yearsI’ve just received a nuisance call.2 yearsI picked up the phone, and after the all-too-familiar pause that suggests it’s one of those pesky auto-dialled calls, I was greeted by someone claiming to be from my network provider. Given that I use a company phone, I knew straight away that this was a bit of a ruse since any legitimate calls would be directed at the contract holder, who happens to be my employer. So, I promptly said farewell and hung up the phone.2 yearsA call came through from this number, and my phone flagged it as potential spam, prompting me to ignore it. They didn’t bother leaving a message, which was rather telling. I've since taken the precaution of blocking and reporting the number.2 yearsWithout a doubt, this reeks of a scam. It seems they might be capitalising on the moment you answer the call to line their pockets.2 yearsLast week, I had the unfortunate experience of my Etsy account being compromised, and I ended up getting swindled, nearly losing all my funds. Since that incident, this number keeps persistently calling me! I've chosen not to pick up; I simply let it ring out, and curiously, there’s never a message left. I had my phone number linked to that account, so I can confidently say it’s definitely a bunch of scammers... best to avoid answering!2 yearsI received a response to my "hello" almost immediately, within a mere ten seconds, no less! They claimed to be from Vodafone, informing me that I was eligible for an upgrade. I shot back with, "Oh, Vodafone? That's surprising, as I don't even have an account with them. How did you manage to get my number?" Their reply? A rather unpleasant "well, screw you then." How delightful.Vodafone2 yearsDidn't pick up, but I'd wager it's likely some sort of junk call.2 yearsReceived a rather abrupt message from a spam number, simply saying 'hello' and nothing more. Quite strange!2 yearsRang me twice, I greeted them with a 'hello', they returned the salutation, and just like that, the call was cut off.2 yearsI've been inundated with calls today from a number that seems to change its last few digits but consistently starts with “01644 216***”. When I finally decided to pick up, a woman claiming to be “Rachel” from EE was on the line-definitely sounded like they’ve outsourced to a call centre in India. She was trying to lure me in with an enticing offer of 35% off my monthly bill. Then, she asked how much I usually fork out each month (£52.47), kept me hanging on for a moment-clearly doing some quick calculations-before telling me, “You’ll only owe £36.72 for the remainder of your contract. Does that sound appealing, madam?” I realised straight away it was a con when I could hear raucous chatter in the background (curiosity got the better of me). I pointed out that I only pay that hefty sum because of add-ons and extra data I've purchased beyond my limit and, moreover, that I’m not tied to any contract. In hindsight, I probably should’ve dragged it out a bit more to see their angle, but I can only guess they’d want my name, address, and likely bank details for some ridiculous “fee” to send out a new SIM card or to supposedly activate this plan. If they ring me again, I reckon I’ll play along a bit and then drop an update here, plus file a report about their dodgy dealings.RachelEEIndia2 yearsI received a call on my number that's registered with the Telephone Preference Service. If they’re bold enough to flout the law simply by ringing my phone, it’s clear they’re up to no good.Telephone Preference Service2 yearsThis is definitely a dodgy call - best to steer clear and not pick up!Submit Your Own Report (01644 216253)
