Since then, this number keeps phoning me non stop! I dont pick up, and they never bother to leave a message either. My mobile was linked to the Etsy account too, so I’m certain these calls are from the scammers. Best not to pick up!3 yearsI said “hi” and within about 10 seconds they answered claiming to be Vodafone, telling me I’m eligible for an upgrade. I responded, “Vodafone? I’m not even a customer, how did you get hold of my number?” Their next message was just “well screw you then.” Absolutely lovely.Vodafone3 yearsI didn’t pick up, but it seemed like a spam call to me.3 yearsGot a call from some spammer who just said hi and then hung up right away.3 yearsThey rang me up two times, I answered with a hello, they just said hello back and then they hung up.3 yearsI’ve received a bunch of calls today from numbers starting with “01644 216” but with different last few digits each time. When I picked up, a woman who said her name was “Rachel” claimed to be calling from EE - though the accent definitely didn’t sound local, more like an Indian call centre. She was trying to sell me a 35% discount on my monthly bill. I gave her my last bill amount (£52.47), and after a brief pause (which was clearly just her pretending to calculate), she came back and said I’d be paying £36.72 from now on. She asked if that was alright with me. I could tell straight away it was dodgy, especially when I heard other voices speaking in a different language in the background. Still, I played along a bit and told her the offer couldn’t be genuine cause: 1) I only got that figure because I had a bunch of add-ons, not a base contract and 2) I’m not even on a contract with EE. I probably should have stayed on the call longer to see what they were after - my guess is personal details, address, or even bank info under the pretence of paying some kind of “fee” to get a new SIM or activate the discount. Totally fishy. If they ring again, I’ll keep going and report back here. Also planning to flag it as a scam.RachelEEIndia3 yearsMy number’s on the TPS list, yet I still get calls from them. Honestly, if they’re willing to ignore legal blocking just to ring you, you know they’re dodgy as hell.Telephone Preference Service3 yearsDodgy call, best to just ignore it.Submit Your Own Report (01644 216253)
